CAREN NEDERLANDER TO EXHIBIT IN GREAT BRITAIN

NEW YORK, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Local photographer Caren Nederlander has been invited to exhibit her "Impressionist" collection of photographs at the venerable Camera Club -- the oldest and most prestigious camera club in Great Britain.
Nederlander, a member of the internationally renowned theatrical family, plans to exhibit 60 colorful impressionist photographs at The Camera Club, 16 Bowden Street, London, from April 1-30. An opening reception is being hosted by The Camera Club in her honor on Wednesday, April 7, from 7-10 p.m.
Nederlander maintains residences and studios in Manhattan and East Hampton, N.Y., although her impressionistic artistry actually originated in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
"I am just thrilled to be invited to exhibit my work at this outstanding gallery in England," said Nederlander. "The Camera Club was founded in 1885 in London's Covent Garden. In 1982, the organization constructed the present four-story studio, darkrooms and gallery one mile from Westminster Bridge in Southeast London."
Nederlander's photography collection represents the intellectual curiosity she has captured through the lens of her camera for more than 10 years. Nederlander also is a practicing clinical psychologist and marriage counselor and said that it was never her intention to become a photojournalist.
"Instead, my second career has evolved as inspiration from the impressionist painters," said Nederlander. "It has been my desire to capture mood, movement and the shifting shades of nature's colors."
"I believe that my photographs reveal the romance and mystery of the impressionistic era, and I am proud to exhibit these photographs in Europe where so many impressionist artists once lived and worked."
Nederlander earned a fine arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as well as a doctorate degree in psychology.
Nederlander's sons are Robert Nederlander Jr., a Manhattan entertainment lawyer, and Eric Nederlander, also of Manhattan, an active member of the Nederlander Theatrical Organization.
