CAREMARK COMMENCES STOCK REPURCHASE

 NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Caremark International (NYSE: CK) announced today that it has commenced its common stock repurchase program.
 The company on July 27 said that its board of directors had authorized the purchase of up to 1.5 million shares from time to time in open market transactions on or before July 31, 1994, to be held in treasury and reissued for use in the company's stock-based compensation programs or for acquisitions.
 Caremark International Inc. is a leading provider of alternate site health care, marketing a broad range of therapies and services to patients, physicians, providers and payors, including as a partner in managed care delivery systems. The company had 1992 sales of $1.46 billion.
