CARDIOPULMONICS REPORTS THIRD QUARTER 1993 RESULTS

 SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- CardioPulmonics Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: CRDS) today reported results for its third quarter and the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1993.
 For the quarter ended Sept. 30, 1993, CardioPulmonics reported a net loss of $1,251,936 or $.15 per share. This compares to a net loss of $1,659,268 or $.20 per share for the comparable quarter ended Sept. 30, 1992.
 The current quarter results compare to previous net losses of $1,391,322 and $2,733,739 reported for the second and first quarters of 1993, respectively. The reduction in quarterly net losses during 1993 is indicative of the company's ongoing efforts to reduce costs and expenses, including another reduction in force completed during the third quarter, and to conserve cash resources.
 The net loss for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1993, was $5,376,997 or $.63 per share, compared to a net loss of $4,175,053 or $.52 per share for the same period in 1992.
 The company's balance sheet reflected $16,461,193 in cash, cash equivalents, and cash investments at Sept. 30, 1993.
 CardioPulmonics Inc. manufactures the IVOX(R) device (Intravascular Oxygenator) that is being studied under an IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) from the Food and Drug Administration.
