CARDIFF City; Welsh Football watch.

Byline: Terry Phillips

CARDIFF City Ladies turn from National League Women's Premier Division fixtures to the Welsh Cup this weekend.

They travel to mid-Wales for a semi-final clash with Caernarfon at Rhayader FC.

Cardiff lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea at Bryntirion Athletic FC last weekend and are currently in the second relegation spot eight points behind Birmingham City.

The only goal of the match came just before half-time when Eniola Aluko went one-on-one with goalkeeper Rhian Nokes and fired low into the corner.

Katie Daley had a good chance, but could only head into the arms of England goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain.

Chelsea had Emma Whitter, on for Aluko, sent off for foul and abusive language, while Cardiff's Loren Dykes' late cross was too strong for both Nicola Cousins and SamJones at the far post.
