CAPS, Certified Airline Passenger Services, Checks-in Its 100,000th Passenger.

Business Editors & Travel Writers

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2001

CAPS (Certified Airline Passenger Services), the country's first off-airport passenger and baggage check-in service for multiple airlines, achieved a historic milestone today as it checked-in its 100,000th customer.

The customer, Jose Pedroza of Chula Vista, Calif., checked-in for his Southwest Airlines flight at the CAPS location at Bellagio at approximately 10 a.m.

CAPS executives including the company's chairman, Jerome Snyder, congratulated Pedroza. As CAPS' 100,000th customer, Pedroza received a prize package including a two-night Las Vegas vacation package compliments of Southwest Airlines Vacations. The trip for two includes roundtrip air via Southwest Airlines, two-night hotel accommodations and taxes, Rapid Rewards credit and 24-hour travel assistance. Pedroza also received a lifetime supply of CAPS Airline Check-In Service vouchers and other CAPS merchandise.

Since it began offering the service in November 1998, CAPS has saved each of its 100,000 customers an average of 90 minutes of waiting time at the airport, or a total of 150,000 hours.

"By using CAPS, the departure from Las Vegas was much easier and less stressful," Pedroza said. "I will use it every chance I can. And I'll be telling my friends and family about it too."

According to CAPS Chairman of the Board Snyder: "We could not be more excited to be celebrating this major milestone. CAPS customers are very loyal and we, along with our airline and hotel partners like Southwest Airlines and Bellagio, are very happy to be able to give them something back. We are in business to make travel easier for thousands of passengers just like Mr. Pedroza."

Based in Las Vegas, CAPS is the country's first off-airport passenger and baggage check-in service for multiple airlines. By providing remote airport check-in, CAPS helps travelers avoid waiting in lines at the airport, an experience consumers rank as the No. 1 cause of stress when traveling, according to a recent survey by TNS Intersearch.

As an authorized representative of the airlines, CAPS complies with the Federal Aviation Administration's security regulations on behalf of the airlines to ensure an equal level of expertise and security. CAPS group travel and charter airlines division, American Baggage Co. (ABC), has transported more than 15 million pieces of baggage since its inception in 1972. In 1998, CAPS expanded its services to include scheduled airlines and individual travelers.

CAPS currently operates at 13 locations in Las Vegas and plans to expand to other leading business and leisure travel destinations throughout the United States. CAPS is an authorized air carrier representative for 12 domestic and foreign airlines. For more information and an online media kit, refer to the CAPS Web site at www.capstravel.com.
