CANONIE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORP.ANNOUNCES NEW VICE PRESIDENT -- MIDWEST REGION

 DALLAS, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Canonie Environmental Services Corp. (NASDAQ: CANO), a leading provider of engineering and remedial services for the clean-up of hazardous waste sites, announced that Charles Rives has been promoted to vice president - Midwest Region. He is replacing Timothy Harrington, who will be leaving the company to pursue other interests. In addition, Scott Smith, a project manager with Canonie, has been selected to fill Rives' vacated position as Regional Operations Manager - Midwest Region.
 Rives, a native of Louisville, Ky., holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has held previous management positions with Rollins Environmental, LTV Steel Company, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He has served as Canonie's Midwest Regional Operations Manager since 1989. Rives is married to the former Sharon L. Sellers, also of Louisville, and they reside with their two sons in Crete, Ill.
 Scott Smith has been with Canonie since 1989, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining Canonie, Smith spent 11 years with Exxon Corporation where he served in various process engineering and financial management positions. Smith is a native of Valparaiso, Ind., and is married to the former Sherri Kay Garrison, also of Valparaiso, and they reside, with their two children, in Chesterton, Ind.
 Canonie Environmental Services Corp. provides comprehensive, hazardous waste remediation services.
