CANONIE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORP. ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT/CEO

 ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Canonie Environmental Services Corp. (NASDAQ: CANO), a leading provider of engineering and remedial services for the cleanup of hazardous waste sites, today announced the election of Richard A. Zartler as President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Thomas A. Donovan, who has resigned to pursue other career interests.
 Mr. Zartler was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Grace Drilling Company and a Senior Vice President of Grace Energy Corporation.
 Mr. Zartler had previously served at W.R. Grace & Co. in 1980, as a Vice President of its Natural Resources Group with responsibility for business development and, in 1987, was elected a Corporate Vice President of Grace. He was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Grace Drilling in August, 1988.
 Prior to his Grace service, Mr. Zartler served as President of Western Petroleum Services, a division of the Western Company of North America. He has held several managerial positions, with General Portland Cement Company and Dow Chemical Company.
 A native of Deerfield, Ill., Mr. Zartler graduated from Dartmouth College in 1962 with a B.A. degree in engineering science and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1964. He and his wife, the former Frances Wells Shearer, presently reside in Richardson, Texas, and have three children.
 Canonie Environmental Services Corp. provides comprehensive services throughout the United States for remediation of sites contaminated by hazardous materials. The firm provides its clients with a complete range of services, including assessing the regulatory, technical and construction aspects of the problem; developing a strategic plan to solve the problem; and performing the necessary remediation and operation activities.
