 CAMPBELL SOUP NAMES BERNSTOCK PRESIDENT-CAMPBELL CANADA
 CAMDEN, N.J., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Soup Co. (NYSE: CPB) announced today that Robert F. Bernstock will become president and chief executive officer of Campbell Soup Company Ltd in Canada, effective Oct. 23.
 Bernstock, currently sector vice president-Soup, will replace C. David Clark, who is leaving the company.
 In announcing the promotion, Herbert M. Baum, president-Campbell North and South America Division, cited Bernstock's successful record in managing various businesses.
 "Bob has brought innovation and a contagious competitive spirit to Campbell's Soup Sector," said Baum. "His skills and knowledge of the sector will be a great asset in growing our Canadian operation."
 Bernstock joined Campbell in March 1985 as marketing director in the frozen foods business unit. Three years later he was appointed general manager of the entire Swanson frozen foods business. He was chosen to lead Campbell's soup business unit in 1989 as general manager, and was named a corporate vice president in May 1990.
 Prior to joining Campbell, Bernstock held the position of vice president of marketing for Multimate International, one of the nation's largest computer software companies. Previously he was vice president of marketing for United Satellite Communications Inc., overseeing the launch of the first direct broadcast satellite service. He obtained his early career marketing experience at General Foods.
 Bernstock is an honors graduate of Hamilton College and earned an M.B.A. in marketing management and finance from the Harvard Business School. He and his family will relocate from their Penn Valley, Pa., home to the Toronto area.
