 CAMPBELL REORGANIZES GLOBAL BUSINESS OPERATIONS
 CAMDEN, N.J., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Soup Company

(NYSE: CPB) today announced a major reorganization of its global business operations in a move aimed at more strongly focusing its resources on emerging business opportunities.
 Under the reorganization, effective immediately:
-- Herbert M. Baum, President, Campbell North America, becomes president of a new Campbell North and South America Division, which combines Campbell's Argentine and Mexican businesses into the former Campbell North America, which was made up of the company's U.S. and Canadian operations.
-- Robert Subin, President, Campbell Latin America/Asia, becomes president of a new Europe/Asia Division. The new division incorporates Campbell's businesses based in Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan as well as Campbell's Godiva Chocolatier subsidiary, which had been a part of Campbell North America.
Campbell President and Chief Executive Officer David W. Johnson said creation of the Campbell North and South America Division had four major objectives: To take stronger advantage of an emerging North American trading bloc; to bring the Argentine operation organizationally closer to Campbell's North American business, which it supplies with ingredients; to develop Campbell's Hispanic businesses, the fastest- growing segment of the U.S. population; and to improve export opportunities throughout the Americas.
Johnson said creation of the Europe/Asia Division is aimed at enabling Campbell's European and Asian businesses to more readily draw upon the company's extensive North American resources; streamlining the international management structure; and extending Campbell's "core competencies" to the global marketplace for geographic expansion.
"We are committed to competing and winning in those global markets which show the most long-term promise," Johnson said. "There are many business-building opportunities in the world and I am convinced that this new organization will enable our formidable management team maximum opportunity to meet our objectives."
