 CAMPBELL IDENTIFIES SUBSTANCE AS MOLD
 CAMDEN, N.J., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Soup Company

(NYSE: CPB) said today that a foreign substance found in a 32 oz. bottle of V8 Light 'n Tangy vegetable juice in West Virginia, and which was the subject of widespread media attention Monday night and Tuesday, was common mold.
Mold can occur in any tomato-based product if the bottle or container is opened and the product is exposed to air over a week or two.
"This was an isolated incident and the substance posed no health hazard to anyone," said Tommy L. Shannon, vice president-Quality Assurance, whose laboratories promptly tested the substance following the report from the consumer.
