CAMEROON TO MODIFY IMPORT SYSTEM.

Summary: Cameroon imports more goods than it exports.

Cameroon imports more goods than it exports. These are mostly food products (fish, mineral water, milk, mayonnaise, biscuits, fruit, juice, etc.), construction equipment, cosmetics and hygiene products (toothpaste, soaps, shampoos, perfumes). However, many of these products do not meet quality standards in force in Cameroon. This is the case of certain building materials. It is in this context that the Prime Minister has recently signed a decree on the implementation of assessment program before shipment of the goods imported to the Republic of Cameroon. He said the program will check the conformity of the goods at the point of import, that is to say, before their arrival in Cameroon.
