CALVIN KLEIN COSMETICS ANNOUNCES TOUGH NEW ANTI-DIVERSION POLICY
NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Calvin Klein Cosmetics Company today announced it has taken another bold step to crack down on the increasing problem of the sale of its products by unauthorized accounts.
In a one-page Marketing Policy recently distributed to its domestic customers, Calvin Klein Cosmetics noted that the integrity of the selective distribution system for its products was essential to insure product quality, breadth of product selection and protection of its trademarks. Accordingly, Calvin Klein Cosmetics announced that it will impose severe sanctions on violators, including the termination of its relationship with any of its customers who sell its fragrance products for resale. The company stated that it would consider a sale or series of sales to be for resale if it involved a transfer of more than 15 units.
Kim Delsing, president of Calvin Klein Cosmetics, stated that the policy was designed to insure the integrity of Calvin Klein Cosmetics' distribution system, and to protect product quality and product selection for the consumer.
Calvin Klein Cosmetics Company is the New York-based manufacturer of Obsession, Eternity and Escape brand fragrance products for women and men. It is a unit of Unilever United States, Inc., the Anglo-Dutch Unilever Group's holding company for its businesses in the United States.
