CALLAWAY CARS TO UNVEIL SUPERNATURAL CAMARO C-8; NEWEST ADDITION TO DEBUT AT GREATER LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW IN JANUARY

OLD LYME, Conn., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Callaway Cars will introduce the latest addition to its expanding line of high-performance vehicles, by unveiling a SuperNatural prototype of the Camaro Z-28 at the 1994 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled for Jan. 8-16.
Callaway targeted the Camaro "because it gives us the opportunity to offer our technology to a wider group of people on a lower-cost platform," explained the company's president Reeves Callaway.
Code-named "Callaway C-8," the new vehicle incorporates Callaway's 404 horsepower LT-1 engine, a significant boost from the maximum 285 horsepower offered by standard Z-28 models.
Incorporating the distinctive Callaway lineage, the Camaro C-8 features an aerodynamically enhanced nose, new panels below the beltline, and a rounded tail. Its design is "aimed at attaining a high degree of functionality, originality and aesthetic appeal," according to Montreal-based designer Paul Deutschman.
Founded in 1976, Callaway Cars specializes in turbocharged, naturally aspirated and powertrain enhancements for high-performance vehicles. The company's clients include General Motors, Alfa Romeo, Iso Rivolta, and Aston Martin.
