CALIFORNIA SEARCH FIRM OFFERS NEW RECRUITING SERVICE

CALIFORNIA SEARCH FIRM OFFERS NEW RECRUITING SERVICE
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Proposing to

eliminate the deluge of resumes which inundates human resources managers filling professional and mid-level management positions, Byron Leonard International (BLI) has announced a new service which will provide a number of qualified candidates at a cost commensurate with recruitment advertising.
The Westlake Village-based executive search firm has established a new division, Recruitment Research Services, which, on contract to a client company, will target and research appropriate companies and present three interested, fully qualified candidates for consideration within three to four weeks of receiving the assignment. Further, the research and all of the data generated becomes the immediate property of the client company.
"The savings in research and administrative time alone is worth several thousand dollars," said Stephen Wolf, principal at BLI.
In today's economy, Wolf explained, overworked and often understaffed human resources departments receive several hundred replies to recruitment ads that two or three years ago drew a few dozen responses or less.
"Human resources departments have had staff reductions too," Wolf said. "If they advertise a position in this market, the sheer volume of response can be overwhelming. The rub is that a high percentage of resumes are directed to the company, not to the job, and therefore are not qualified.
"In these tight economic times, many companies would like to cut back on advertising costs and also eliminate the time required to screen the hundreds of replies," he added. "With our databases and our expertise at fitting the right people to a position, BLI eliminates the ad expense, reduces the administrative expense and curtails the blizzard of paper and uninvited calls from employment agencies."
Wolf emphasized that, "the new recruitment service is less comprehensive than BLI provides on a full service executive search; that's why it's cost effective.
"With this recruiting service we present in 3-4 weeks, at greatly reduced expense, a short list of well-qualified candidates that always reflects favorably on what our clients could do on their own."
Wolf said that the new service is also beneficial to the human resources manager who is tasked with filling a key position after the company has just had a layoff.
"Companies hate to run an ad after a layoff," Wolf said. "We offer a very workable alternative."
Wolf said that initial offerings of the new BLI program have been welcomed by client companies for whom BLI has completed executive search assignments.
"Given the changing nature of the employment process," he added, "this service will be attractive well into the 1990s."
