CALCO RESOURCES AND TERYL RESOURCES ENGAGE KENNECOTT CANADA INC.
TO BEGIN AIR SURVEY OF AMAD PROPERTY
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Calco Resources Inc. (Vancouver: KLC) and Teryl Resources Corp. (Vancouver: TRC) have engaged Kennecott Canada Inc., a division of mining giant RTZ (NYSE: RTZ), to immediately begin airborne geophysical surveying of its 2,530-acre Amad property, located just 20 miles from Dia Met/BHP Utah's recent spectacular diamond find. Calco/Teryl's Amad claims, located in the Northwest Territories, in northern Canada, are contiguous on three sides with Dia Met/BHP Utah's Lac de Gras property, where 101 carats of diamonds were recently pulled from one kimberlite pipe.
Preliminary results of Kennecott's air survey will be released in two to three weeks. If anomalies are discovered on the Amad claims, a ground check by geochemical programs will be conducted to identify the potential location of any diamond-bearing kimberlite pipes.
Geological mapping by the Geological Survey of Canada shows that a major favorable trend or fault stems from Dia Met's discovery and runs through the middle of Calco/Teryl's Amad claims. Favorable rock types are also known to occur nearby and are believed to underlie part or all of the (Amad claims) property.
Dia Met's shares have soared from pennies to over $15 per share on the discovery of the 50-acre diamondiferous kimberlite pipe. The grade in the bulk sample was 63 carats per 100 tons with about 25 percent being of gem quality. The find has spurred a staking frenzy by some of the world's largest mining companies including De Beers of South Africa and has drawn international attention to what may become the world's next big diamond-producing region.
