NEW YORK, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- A sneak preview of new Cadillac models will block traffic in front of the New York Stock Exchange during the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 6, Cadillac Motor Car Division announced today.
Cadillac, America's luxury car leader, will unveil the final two models of its completely revamped lineup -- the redesigned 1994 DeVille and a completely new class of luxury car, the De Ville Concours -- at the Financial District event.
The preview vehicles will caravan to the Exchange under police escort starting at 3:30 p.m., and will be displayed from 4-6 p.m. on Broad Street between Wall Street and Exchange Place for the business community to experience.
The event, one day before the national introduction, is sponsored by the group of 64 dealers serving metropolitan New York, the Cadillac Tri-Statesmen. It is an encore of Cadillac's 1991 Broad Street Preview to introduce the revolutionary new Seville and Eldorado, vehicles which have become symbols of Cadillac's renaissance as a luxury car maker.
According to Dick Welday, Cadillac Eastern zone manager, Cadillac has embraced Wall Street because the business community is astute about investments and knows cars. "We have a strong product and value story to tell to Wall Street, which really wants an alternative to the expensive imported luxury cars on the market."
Tri-Statesmen advertising for the past two years has featured Wall Street with on-the-street interviews and candid talk from automotive analysts.
Since the 1991 Wall Street event, Cadillac has introduced a total of eight new vehicles in three model years, as part of an aggressive campaign to reassert its leadership in the American luxury car market.
Cadillac is returning to Wall Street this fall to give the New York financial community a progress report. The New York market is extremely important for Cadillac, and is an important opinion leader nationally, Welday said.
