CADENCE NAMES HOGAN VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
 FOR ITS ANALOG DIVISION
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Cadence Design Systems Inc. (NYSE: CDN) today named James H. Hogan the vice president of marketing for its Analog Division, the company announced. Hogan replaces Charles Janac who plans to become an independent consultant.
Effective Sept. 28, Hogan assumes responsibility for all marketing activities in the Analog Division including product and channel marketing, technical partnerships and application engineering. A veteran of National Semiconductor Corp. with over 15 years of experience, Hogan will report directly to Jim Solomon, president of Cadence's Analog Division.
"We're very excited to have Jim join Cadence," said Solomon. "His breadth of semiconductor experience, industry involvement and track record at National give us full confidence in his ability to provide marketing leadership to the Analog Division."
Hogan brings to Cadence a broad, cross-functional knowledge of the semiconductor industry, computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing. Through his active participation in industry initiatives, Hogan developed a close working relationship with Cadence. Through his efforts National became a founding member of both the Cadence Analog Alliance, a group that was influential in the directions of the Analog Division at Cadence, and Open Verilog International (OVI), an independent organization formed to support and promote the use of Verilog HDL. He also served as a technical advisory board member of Sematech and the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corp. (MCC) for CAD.
Before joining Cadence, Hogan acted as director of computer integrated manufacturing at National Semiconductor with responsibility for managing over 70 software engineers worldwide and delivering advanced manufacturing systems. Previously, he was CEO of Express Test Corp., a $2 million semiconductor test company in Mountain View.
"My charter is to continue to expand Cadence's worldwide analog leadership," said Hogan. "I believe in Cadence's solutions approach and intend to build upon the momentum Cadence's Analog Division has already attained as the premier supplier of analog EDA solutions."
Hogan holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BA in Mathematics with a Computer Science Engineering Option from San Jose State University.
Janac, the current vice president of marketing for Cadence's Analog Division, leaving Cadence, but will continue to work with the company as an independent consultant. One of Janac's first projects will be to manage Cadence's relationships with small, entrepreneurial, third-party companies.
"Charlie's drive and vision helped the division carve out a leadership position in analog EDA," Solomon continued. "We thank Charlie for the valuable contributions he made in his nine years with the company and we are pleased that we can support him in pursuing his personal career goals. We're looking forward to continuing our relationship with Charlie."
