CAC-RAMSAY HEALTH PLANS AND SOUTH MIAMI HEALTH SYSTEM FORM MANAGED CARE PARTNERSHIP

 CORAL GABLES, Fla., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- CAC-Ramsay Health Plans, a subsidiary of Ramsay-HMO, Inc. and the South Miami Health System, have formed a partnership that will offer managed care plans.
 The agreement calls for CAC-Ramsay, South Florida's second largest Health Maintenance Organization, to oversee administrative services while the South Miami Health System will provide the health care.
 The South Miami Health System includes South Miami Hospital, SMH Homestead Hospital, SMH Diagnostic Center, the SMH Home Health Agency, and other related services.
 John Geanes, president/CEO of South Miami Health System, states, "The South Miami Health System network has been proactive in developing cooperative relationships to help employers manage health care costs. Our relationship as a provider for the CAC-Ramsay Health Plan will further our efforts to provide employers with cost effective options."
 The flagship South Miami Hospital is a 500-bed not-for-profit, full- service hospital that has been serving South Florida since 1960. Responding to community demands, the South Miami Diagnostic Center offers outpatient cost-effective, convenient outpatient services, complementing the South Miami Ambulatory Care Center, where same-day surgery is performed. Residents of Homestead and the Upper Keys are served by the 120-bed, JCAHO accredited SMH Homestead Hospital.
 CAC-Ramsay Health Plans is a South Florida-based, federally qualified Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) serving the needs of over 119,000 members. The company has been an integral part of the South Florida community since 1970 and today operates 13 medical centers conveniently located throughout Dade and Broward counties.
 CAC-Ramsay Health Plans says its strategic alliance with the South Miami Health System is one which will offer the utmost in health care. "The arrangement with the South Miami Health System allows us to extend our product line to more individuals in the South Florida market," said Luis Lamela, chief executive officer of CAC-Ramsay Health Plans.
