CABOT OIL & GAS COMPLETES ACQUISITION

 HOUSTON, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. (NYSE: COG) reported today that it has closed the previously announced acquisition of CNG Transmission Corporation's interest in certain producing wells in western Pennsylvania. The purchase includes ownership interests in 24 wells. Cabot Oil & Gas currently has partial ownership in 22 of the wells. The average working interest purchased was 43 percent. Cabot Oil & Gas is the operator of the wells.
 Cabot Oil & Gas also increased its working interest in 32 wells located in the same area with the purchase of a 5.3 percent working interest from Empire Exploration, Inc.
 Cabot Oil & Gas is a leading independent natural gas producer and marketer with substantial interests in the Appalachian and Anadarko regions. The company maintains headquarters in Houston, Texas, and regional offices in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Oklahoma City, Okla.
 CNG Transmission Corporation, headquartered in Clarksburg, W.Va., is the interstate gas transmission subsidiary of Consolidated Natural Gas Company, a fully integrated natural gas company.
