AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has stated that it is working with related government departments to build three new airports: Beijing Capital Airport, Shanghai Pudong Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport.

Beijing Capital Airport will co-operate with Air China; Shanghai Pudong Airport with China Eastern Airlines; and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport with China Southern Airlines.

CAAC has also indicated that it will construct three air transportation administration centres across China, with one each in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, according to AsiaPulse. The changes are part of the restructuring of the Chinese airline industry, which has resulted in three major airline groupings.
