 C. M. HARRISON ELECTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF EXXON CORPORATION
 IRVING, Texas, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Exxon Corporation (NYSE: XON) today elected C. M. Harrison a senior vice president of the corporation, effective Sept. 1, 1992. Harrison is currently executive vice president of Exxon Company, U.S.A., a Houston- based division of Exxon Corporation with responsibility for oil and gas operations, other than exploration, in the United States.
 A native of Corrigan, Texas, Harrison is a petroleum and mechanical engineering graduate of Texas A&M University.
 He joined Exxon Company, U.S.A., in Texas in 1953. Following a series of producing, supply and planning assignments, he was named executive assistant to the president of Exxon Corporation in 1977. In 1978, Harrison was named a vice president of Esso Middle East, a division of Exxon Corporation which at the time had responsibility for the company's exploration and production interests in the Middle East and North Africa. The following year he became president of Esso Standard Libya in Tripoli, Libya. He returned to the United States in 1981 as executive vice president of Esso Middle East. The following year, Harrison was named deputy manager of Exxon Corporation's Producing Department, and in October 1983 became producing vice president of the Corporation.
 In May 1985, Harrison was appointed senior vice president and a member of Exxon Company, U.S.A.'s Management Committee in Houston and became executive vice president in February 1988.
 Harrison is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Texas State Board of Professional Engineers. He serves on the boards of directors of the Houston Committee for Private Sector Initiatives, Central Houston, Inc., the Western States Petroleum Association, and the National Association of Manufacturers. He is also a member of the Chancellor's Century Council of Advisors for the Texas A&M University System, and of the Engineering External Advisory and Development Council.
