Bye-polls on various constituencies, Nomination papers filing from tomorrow.

QUETTA -- The nomination papers are scheduled to be submitted for the elections / bye-elections on different constituencies of the provincial and national assemblies from July 3, 2013. The nominations filing would remain continued till July 9, 2013.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the polling will be held on August 22, 2013.

According to the schedule, the scrutiny of the papers will be conducted from July 11-17, 2013.

The last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officers (rejecting / accepting) has been fixed as July 22, 2013.

The last date for deciding appeals by the Tribunals is July 29, 2013 while withdrawal of the candidature can be made by July 30, 2013.

The revised list of candidates would be published on July 31, 2013.

It may be mentioned here that the elections are scheduled to be held in Balochistan on PB-29, Naseerabad-II, PB-32, Jhal Magsi (Old-Kachi-III) and PB-44, Lasbela-I, besides NA-262, Killa Abdullah.

The notification issued in this regard said that the public notice will be issued by the Returning Officers on July 01, 2013.

The PB-29 had fallen vacant following disqualification of MPA by SCP.

In PB-32, the elections were postponed due to killing of an election candidate during campaigning while PB-44 had fallen vacant after the winning candidate from there, Mir Jam Kamal Khan had opted to take oath of Member National Assembly, as he had also succeeded from the NA seat.

Similarly, the NA-262 had fallen vacant after Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who had also secured success on NA-259, had opted to keep the later seat thus vacating the former.
