He auditioned by filming himself doing handstands on his roof, but at 8 p.m. today you can watch Eugene's Kerry Collins, 42, the safety/HR manager at H30 Inc. in Harrisburg, compete on NBC's "American Ninja Warrior." Contestants, from soccer moms to firefighters to students and senior citizens, compete in a series of endurance events for a $500,000 cash prize.

FREE CANCER SCREENINGS

The Willamalane Adult Activity Center at 215 West C St. in Springfield is offering free skin cancer screenings for people age 50 and older. The event is Aug. 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A dermatologist will be available to check out concerns such as moles, bumps and skin discolorations during five-minute appointments. Space is limited so register by July 29 at willamalane.org or 541-736-4544.

PARTY AT THE POOL

Enjoy the sunshine at Echo Hollow Pool's block party from 1:10 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. Friday, 1655 Echo Hollow Road. Recreational swimming, kayaking and lap swimming will be available.
