Buyers get moving with Help deal.

THE Government's Help to Buy initiative is helping buyers throughout the region to step on to or up the property ladder. And house builder Barratt Homes North East, says homes at its developments are more affordable than ever. The company highlights the Aylesbury house type at its Milburn Green development in Burnopfield, County Durham, as being ideal for buyers using the scheme.

The Aylesbury is a three-bedroom, semi-detached home with an open-plan lounge/dining room with French doors to the back garden, as well as an open green space which provides the perfect, safe, environment for children to play.

The property also has a good-sized kitchen alongside two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a family bathroom.

Barratt says that with prices starting from PS146,500, the property is the perfect setting for young families and those looking to take their first step on to the property ladder. Using Help to Buy, deposits from as little as PS7,325 can secure a home. Buyers only have to find a 5% deposit and source a 75% moretgage, the remaining 20% coming in the form of a Government equity loan which is interest-free for five years.

And with all homes on the development coming with a structural guarantee from the National House Building Council for 10 years and Barratt Homes guaranteeing the furnishings and fixtures for five years, buyers can enjoy real peace of mind.

Steven Ball, Sales Manager for Milburn Green, said: "The Aylesbury is a fantastic new home and the Help to Buy scheme has meant that there has never been a better time to buy a property. Milburn Green is a fabulous development set in attractive surroundings in close proximity to the beautiful, historic city of Durham and is only eight miles from Newcastle city centre, the heart of the North East."
