BuyMedia.com Meets Unprecedented Growth With New Marketing and Sales Executives; Addition of Two VPs Will Help Media Procurement Site Defend Its Leadership Position.
BuyMedia.com (www.buymedia.com), the first service that lets media buyers purchase premium TV and radio advertising over the Internet, today announced that it has appointed Jackie Walts as vice president, director of marketing, and Jerry Sacchetti as vice president, director of sales. The appointments come in response to increased demand for BuyMedia.com's services.
"BuyMedia.com has experienced unprecedented growth recently. We've added over 200 new users and over 225 radio and television stations have begun using BuyMedia.com as a third sales channel. Our total buyer network is now almost 3,000 and we are currently serving about 2,000 stations. We also recently experienced our best week ever -- over half a million dollars of media was bought through our service," said Mike Jackson, founder and CEO of BuyMedia.com. "We hired Jerry and Jackie to capitalize on the growing popularity of our services, ensure continual growth and brand awareness, and maintain our excellent customer service."
In her new position, Walts will develop and drive BuyMedia.com's strategy for growth, strategic planning, corporate positioning and product launches. Prior to joining BuyMedia.com, she accumulated substantial advertising agency experience at McCann-Erickson, Grey Advertising and J. Walter Thompson and worked with Wells Fargo, Sprint and Chevron. She also served as direct marketing manager at MCI Telecommunications, where she handled direct mail, telemarketing and customer communications, and was a director of marketing and promotions at K-101 Radio. Most recently, she directed new business at Herlihy Marketing Group, where she established strategic marketing direction for Pacific Bell, DHL Worldwide Express and Autodesk. Walts will work in BuyMedia.com's Burlingame headquarters.
At BuyMedia.com, Sacchetti will work to enhance BuyMedia.com's customer base, develop strategic relationships with media buyers and will also work closely with Walts to increase brand awareness and site traffic. Sacchetti will be located in BuyMedia.com's new office in the New York area.
Before joining BuyMedia.com, Sacchetti more than doubled territory revenue and received the 1995 syndicated sales award for top national sales at Arbitron, where he formerly managed and marketed the company's Maximi$er(TM) and Media Professional(TM) software products, which form the basis of media buyers' purchasing decisions and choice of stations. He also has substantial experience selling Strata software -- one of BuyMedia.com's two major software partners -- where he provided DOS- and Windows-based ratings analysis to radio stations, television stations, advertising agencies and retailers. His intimate knowledge of the software's and hardware's functionality gives him special insight into the goals of the technology-based media industry.
BuyMedia.com (www.buymedia.com) is the first and only service that lets media buyers purchase premium TV and radio advertising over the Internet. Unlike Web sites that auction "leftover" ad times, BuyMedia.com is focused on providing premium time to media buyers nationwide. With BuyMedia.com, media buyers communicate with stations across the U.S. via the Internet. Station orders, avail requests and traffic instructions go directly to the stations, saving time and energy. Using BuyMedia.com, a media buyer can accomplish in minutes what used to take hours, and radio and TV stations can dramatically increase both their exposure and ad revenues. BuyMedia.com is available to media buyers at no cost.
