Buy local forum to explain effort.

Business owners and interested citizens are invited to attend an information session on Monadnock Buy Local and how the initiative promotes locally owned and independent businesses.

The session will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at MindFull Books & Ephemera, 29 Main St., Jaffrey.

Monadnock Buy Local is a network of locally owned and independent businesses working together to build a stronger local economy and community. The organization supports the 10% Shift, a New England-wide effort that calls for individuals to spend more of their money locally and at independently owned businesses. Studies find that when money is spent locally, up to three times as much money stays local, according to the organization.
