Butchers' sausages sizzle to win awards.

TWO Cardiff butchers have struck gold at a national awards ceremony.

Whitchurch butchers RC Evans won five gold awards for its traditional pork sausages, pork and leek sausage, pork and chilli sausage, Welsh black beef sausage and beefburgers at the HCC South Wales Counties Innovation and Excellence in Meat Products awards.

Braithwaites of Canton also went home with two gold awards for its traditional pork sausage and Moroccan beefburgers.

Graham Titchener, HCC's marketing executive, said: "Wales' independent butchers are continually developing their products with the consumer in mind and these awards are highly regarded within the industry."
