A BUSKER who scored a date with former Miss Ireland Rebecca Maguire said he was 'blown away" by her looks - but he's married to his music.

Darryl Quinn got to take the model on a second date after beating competition from four other wouldbe suitors on BBC show Beauty Queen And Single.

Known as Buskerman to his fans, the 29-year-old said he stopped working on his first album so he could wine and dine Rebecca.

And he was delighted he got to perform for the brunette pharmacist, who told him: "When you're playing, I'll not be able to look at you because I'll be scundered."

Darryl's song didn't go down so well with the other beauty queens on last night's show but Rebecca seemed to like it, telling him: "You're really good."

Talking about the date, Darryl told the Mirror: "She is a good-looking model who 'can't find love' so she went on five dates with five random unlikely fellas.

"I basically went on the date and didn't even realise the lack of make-up as the girl was gorgeous.

"She chose me out of the other guys. But on the second date when she turned up with all the glam I was blown away.

"I just tried to be myself as much as possible despite the uncomfortable pressure of 10 cameras honed in on me.

"I played a song on the date, and despite the beauty queens not really impressed thinking it was cool, my date definitely liked it. She chose me out of the other guys to win."

When the Mirror asked if he got her number, the ever professional Buskerman said: "It was good fun and a good experience but I'm married to my music."

You can catch Darryl, who is from Co Tyrone, performing regularly in Belfast's Cornmarket and various bars around the city to raise the money for his first album.
