A group of 20 community leaders in Naperville are planning to open their own bank.

Founding members said that they were opening their own bank in order to avail better community-banking services. The launch is expected in June. The bank is to be called First Community Bank of Naperville (FCB Naperville).

The bank is to open at a temporary location and is to initially function as a branch of the First Community Bank of Joliet. It is expected that the bank may have to wait for two years in order to obtain a new charter.

Ray Kinney, one of the bank's founders, said, 'We've found that the guys that know us, our local bankers, aren't really making the decisions. So we're trying to create a bank that allows businesses locally to grow and to have good relationships with their bank that knows who they are and what they stand for in the community.'
