Screen link deal
A new deal has been signed between NTL Incorporated and BSkyB which sees the link between the two companies continuing until the end of 2006. Under the deal, Sky One and Sky News will continue to be carried on NTL's analogue and digital TV services and Sky Sports News continuing on NTL's digital cable TV network. By the end of July NTL's digital cable TV service will also carry, for the first time, six more Sky channels.
A new product to help small and medium-sized enterprises has been developed by Hartlepool company Intellect. Its Managed Broadband Service is designed to protect small and medium-sized enterprises from hackers and viral infectors.
Up to 2,000 business people in the region are to be given new skills. Under the Talent Engine leadership programme they will be given the opportunity to acquire new skills that will have a range of applications beyond working life.
