Mulrain elected

WORCESTER - Michael J. Mulrain of Westboro, chief financial officer at Polar Beverages, has been elected chairman of Children's Friend, a nonprofit human service agency in Worcester. Michael P. Tsotsis, president of Benefit Development Group, has been elected first vice-chair of the organization.


Bank pledge

PUTNAM - The Putnam Bank Foundation has pledged $5,000 toward the costs of expanding the clinical and administrative offices of United Services Inc. in Dayville, Conn. The expansion would double the size of the 20-year-old building to 25,000-square feet. United Services offers social services and behavioral health programs to children, families and adults in 21 towns.

Rail meeting

WORCESTER - The Providence and Worcester Railroad Co. will conduct its annual meeting at 10 a.m. April 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 10 Lincoln Square, Worcester.

Program sold

NATICK - Boston Scientific Corp., which has operations in Marlboro, said it is selling its TriVascular endovascular aortic repair program for $30 million to closely held TV2 Holding Co. of Santa Rosa, Calif. Boston Scientific, which had acquired TriVascular three year ago, discontinued the program in 2006. The deal also allows Boston Scientific to purchase a minority interest in TV2.
