Business CD set to be global hit.

A JAZZ CD backed by Birmingham's business community could become a worldwide hit.

Taking Care of Business, by Tipitina, was recorded in Birmingham's business quarter last Ju ne.

It has now started to gain global recognition with band members interviewed live on radio in USA and airplay on national UK radio. It had also been well reviewed in Canada and Scandinavia.

Organised by Colmore Business District, the live recording took place in the courtyard of Hotel du Vin and was attended by members of Birmingham business leaders.

Tipitina are signed to Big Bear Records, a Birmingham-based independent label, which also looks after artistes such as Musical Youth and King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys.

Owner Jim Simpson said: "In the midst of all the current financial doom and gloom, perhaps a small Birmingham record label are about to defy all the odds and have an international success,"
