Portland construction firm

to build Eugene courthouse

The U.S. General Services Administration has selected Portland-based building firm J.E. Dunn Northwest Inc. as the general contractor for Eugene's federal courthouse.

Dunn Northwest will work with the GSA on the final design for the 278,400-square-foot building and select subcontractors.

Construction of the $70 million project is expected to begin this fall and be completed in 2005. The courthouse will be built on a four-acre parcel previously occupied by the Agripac vegetable cannery.
