LIVERPOOL housing provider Maritime has been awarded a CABE - Commission for Architecture and The Built Environment - award for outstanding achievement in 2002 for its Preston Point scheme in the city centre. Other award recipients were Arsenal FC for their new stadium plans and stores giant Selfridges for their attitude to the reinvention of city centres.

BIRKENHEAD company CBISS has won a contract to supply two major London waste processing plants with hi-tech monitoring equipment. A Deptford-based site produces power from the processing of 420,000 tonnes of waste each year from four London boroughs. And 500,000 tonnes of waste from seven London boroughs are handled by an Edmonton plant. The infrared monitors supplied by CBISS can measure up to 10 gases continuously.

SEFTON Chamber of Commerce is running a free morning seminar for member companies dealing with Employment Law with Health & Safety Tribunals next month. The event takes place between 9.30am12.30pm at Southport's Royal Clifton Hotel on February 11.
