Busch IV is "Advertiser of the Year" at Cannes.
Beer industry analysts say that Busch IV has shown a keen grasp of modern television marketing techniques. The humorous Budweiser ad campaigns overseen by Busch IV are widely credited with boosting the Bud Light brand and retarding the decline of flagship Budweiser.
According to the organizers of the festival, Mr. Busch is receiving the award "for his contribution to the company's domination of the U.S. brewing industry and to the consistent quality of the company's advertising campaigns over the past few years."
The Budweiser "Louie the Lizard" campaign received a Silver Lion award at the 1998 International Advertising Festival, and the Budweiser "Whassup?!" campaign received the Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix award in 2000.
