Busan back on killer ant alert.
Busan is again on a killer ant alert after two red fire ants were found in dried bamboo imported from China.
The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency said Wednesday the ants were identified during an inspection at the port. The species is known as Solenopsis invicta.
The container the ants were found in was shipped from China's Fujian Province.
Emergency quarantine steps were taken to prevent the ants spreading.
Killer ants were first discovered at Gamman Pier in Busan last September. Two days ago, another killer ant was found at Busan Port.
