Burglary alert across the district; Crimewatch TURNING the spotlight on crime in the Huddersfield district. The column is compiled with the co-operation of Neighbourhood Watch Liaison:.

* BURGLARY - Grange Moor, Sept 5. Suspect got into house and entered locked bedroom by forcing door. Laptop, mobile phone and car keys stolen. Vehicle also stolen and later found burnt out.

Youth arrested. Denby Dale, Sept 4. Workshop door smashed and machinery and tools stolen, put in trailer and driven off in vehicle. The thieves returned several times over three days to steal more property. Bookmakers, Wakefield Road, Scissett, Sept 3. Intruder forced door to get in and searched premises but nothing stolen. Kirkburton, Sept 3. Suspect forced electric gates to yard then drove vehicle at electronic metal shutters forcing them open, then got into steel container and stole garden power tools. A quad bike was then stolen in a raid on a second part of the outbuilding. Kirkburton. Sept 3. Ground floor kitchen window smashed and attempt made to release window lock. Frame then removed on second wooden window to get in. Suspect escaped through kitchen door using keys found in stolen handbag. Electrical goods also stolen. Kirkburton, Sept 3. Front ground floor kitchen window forced by snapping latch. Purse and contents stolen from kitchen. Kirkburton, Sept 4. Intruder smashed back garage window and climbed through. Power tools stolen. Thurstonland, September 5. Garage door forced and off road motor bike stolen. Clayton West, September 6. Intruder got into farm outbuilding by cutting through chain on the door and removing padlock. Tools and lawn mower stolen. Penistone, Sept 9. Side window forced open and suspect climbed in. Jewellery and electrical goods stolen. Kirkburton, Sept 6. Intruder forced entry by breaking window and stole electrical goods and purse. Vehicle stolen from driveway using keys taken in burglary. Blue Micra YK02OCD. Highburton, Sept 8. Intruder got into house through integral garage door and stole laptop computers. * THEFT -Grange Moor, Sept 5. Suspect forced entry to trailer at motocross event and stole trials bikes. Grange Moor, Sept 6. Thief got into insecure van and stole green Kawasaki trials bike. Emley, Sept 7. Thief stole pedal cycle from house garage. * CRIMINAL DAMAGE -Kirkburton Middle School. Sept 4. Indelible ink used to inscribe tags on three outside walls. * VEHICLE CRIME - Emley, Sept 3. Front window smashed to get into vehicle and steal CD player. Emley, Sept 4. Thief smashed window and stole radio cassette player. Lepton, Sept 4. Back door lock forced on parked van and power/hand tools stolen. Garage key taken and used to get in and steal more property. Skelmanthorpe, Sept 4. Renault Traffic Panel van from house drive. Vehicle later found in Allerton Bywater totally burnt out.
