Burglars take students work.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary which took place in Grassington Road, Middlesbrough last Wednesday.

A distinctive art A3 portfolio was stolen which contained samples of fabric and wall paper along with written work all in a large folder and essential for the victim's interior design course.

A yellow, silver and blue mountain bike was also stolen in the burglary

Anyone with information on any of the items stolen is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Amanda Welch on 01642 303126.

AN 80-year-old Ormesby man died after banging his head in a fall, an inquest heard. Frederick Walton, 80, a retired plater's mate of Henry Taylor Court, was getting out of his son's car when he got his foot caught, fell backwards and fractured his skull. Teesside Coroner Michael Sheffield said: "He did not wait for help in getting out of the car and as he did so he fell and he fell backwards and struck his head and sustained the injuries which sadly resulted in his death." He recorded a verdict of accidental death.

DARLINGTON Piano Society is holding a concert on Saturday at 7.30pm in the Darlington Arts Centre. Bobby Chen will be performing works by Back, Prokofiev, Schubert and a new work by Stephanie Cant from Durham. Tickets are pounds 10 and pounds 8 for concessions.
