THE Easter Bunny, Mad Hatter and their friends have been warming up for an Easter Run raising money to help save lives.

Join them on the 5k Easter Bunny Run this Sunday, starting off from the Oval Basin at 11am before following a route around the Cardiff Barrage and back.

Organised by the charity Welsh Hearts, all the money raised will go towards the charity's Dai Fib Appeal raising money for Defibrillators and Heart Research throughout Wales. St David's Hotel and Spa general manager Andreas Maszczyk, dressed as the Mad Hatter, and his staff have signed up to take part in the run.

"Have fun this Easter and join hundreds of Easter Bunnies and furry friends and enter The 5k Easter Bunny Run at Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay," said Sharon Owen, charity director.

"This is going to be a great Easter Family Fun Run event with a couple of hundred runners already signed up. It'll be an exciting and fun morning to help keep those hearts beating faster with this great event which will bring the whole community together to help save Welsh lives.

"Join the Mad Hatter, who will lead you on this 5K run, walk, hop, jog or cycle as you chase his carrot around Cardiff Bay." All money raised from the run will go towards a defibrillator for Mermaid Quay and local communities in Cardiff.

Meet at the Oval Basin, in front of the Wales Millennium Centre. Registration from 9.15am. Warmup at 10.45am, race starts at 11am. Prizes for the best fancy dress.
