Bulimic joke not Wanted.

HOLLYWOOD star James McAvoy has been criticised for joking about an eating disorder.

The Wanted actor said he would like to play a bulimic in the blockbuster's sequel.

The Scots actor put on two stones of muscle to play the role of office nerd-turned-assassin in the original film.

McAvoy, 30, said: "I might go skinny for the next film.

"He's a bulimic assassin, he vomits after killing. Nobody who went through that stuff would be mentally sane.

"I think I'm going to play the film like he's in dire need of therapy. And I think he might have stopped eating."

But Grace Coia, of the Centre for Eating Disorders (Scotland), said: "It is a sad misrepresentation which could lead people to think bulimia is socially acceptable."
