Building the future.

Education has been asked to play an important role in the making of the Europe of the future - and the Comenius programme is part of that process.

Comenius 'seeks to promote co-operation between schools and colleagues from different European communities all working together on a common project.'

The EU believes this a theme that will lead to the strengthening of the European dimension in education.

Children will 'gradually recognise the similarities they share with other European pupils of their age and realise the importance of the European dimension and their ability to strengthen it.'

Teachers will also benefit by having the opportunity to work with colleagues abroad and so approach the national curriculum in a new way with fresh ideas.
