Bug check.

More than 800 health club users are to be questioned about a recent outbreak of legionnaires' disease and pontiac fever.

Members of Springs Health Club in Sunderland are being contacted by the Health Protection Agency to ask for their help with a research project.

Part of the private club was closed after 38 members were affected by the legionella bug caught in a spa pool. So far two cases of legionnaires' disease and 76 confirmed or probable cases of pontiac fever have been associated with the club.

The research will include people who were not affected as well as those who were.
