Hungary and Latvia's capitals head a report on top-value cities for a two-night festive shopping stay.
But the annual Post Office Christmas Markets Barometer, which looks at the cost of two evening meals with wine, coffee, festive drinks and snacks, two nights' B&B, return travel and airport transfers, was bad news for 2012's best buy Tallinn.
The Estonian capital is down to eighth place in the league table (right) of 12 European cities after local price rises and its barometer cost of PS841.23 is more than PS300 up on what you'll pay to visit Budapest (PS529) and Riga (PS530).
The top five for value was completed by festive favourites Lille (PS704), Brussels (PS750) and Prague (PS763).
At the financially cruel Yule end of the scale, Munich and Basel both came in at around PS866.
A Post Office Travel Money spokesman said: "Sterling is up to 5% weaker than a year ago against European currencies so it is doubly important for people to shop around."
