Bud brands unite to benefit Hispanic fund

Budweiser and Bud Light and the Anheuser-Busch wholesalers will rally to benefit the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund (NHSF) by conducting local fund-raising activities and making a donation for each case of Budweiser and Bud Light 12-oz. cans sold in October.

Retailers will receive several point-of-sale items to boost Budweiser and Bud Light sales and to raise money for the scholarship fund. Off-premise items include convenience cards, case cards and cooler stickers. Table tents at on-premise locations will encourage customers to purchase a Budweiser/NHSF scholar shield for $1, with proceeds going to the NHSF.

Local fund-raising events coordinated by Anheuser-Busch distributors will include dance-a-thons, beach parties, battles of the bands and sports tournaments.

"This is the eighth year Anheuser-Busch and its more than 900 wholesalers have dedicated a promotional window to benefit the NHSF," said Michael Roarty, executive vice president, Anheuser-Busch, Inc.

Over the past seven years, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers have generated more than $5 million in funds for the NHSF. Company officials anticipate that this year's combined brewer/distributor/retailer effort will raise more than $2 million of support.
