Bubble's bubble burst as he faces the boot.

Byline: ALUN PALMER

BIG Brother bore Bubble faced being blown out as he was nominated last night for the big boot by his housemates.

When the Channel 4 show was launched four weeks ago the 25-year-old warehouse worker was one of the early favourites to win the pounds 70,000 first prize.

But the other contestants soon tired of his laddish behaviour.

And yesterday three players declared Bubble, real name Paul Ferguson, to be the guy they'd most like to see the back of.

The irritating former barman, from Surrey, was set up for the chop by Helen, Paul and Josh.

Bubble will be up against Paul Clarke - nominated for the third time - in the viewers' eviction vote on Friday.

Self-styled geezer Bubble was devastated when he heard some people can't stand the sight of him.

"This is horrid," he said as he retreated to the bedroom where's he's spent most of the past week skulking.

As fellow housemates hugged him, he said, with tears brimming in his eyes: "This is it now. Once you have been nominated you will be up for eviction until the end.

"I am gutted but you have to get on with it. It happens to everyone. The worst thing that could happen is that you get your life back."

For the rest of yesterday afternoon he moped around the house as the other housemates desperately tried to console him.

The bad news for Bubble came as he and housemate Dean had set themselves on course for world records in the latest house challenge.

Bubble showed his dexterity and speed by wolfing down a record number of sweet corn kernels - picked up with a toothpick - in three minutes.

And Dean painstakingly built a structure out of sugar cubes standing more than 90 cubes high.

Neither effort can qualify as a true record until they are judged and ratified by the Guinness Book of Records today.
