Bryn 'n' co are a class act.

Byline: By Angharad Mair

Bryn terfel was back in Covent Garden on Friday night taking the lead role in a new production of Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, and to great critical acclaim as you would expect.

A new box set of his early recordings has also been recently produced and is selling out everywhere.

Tomorrow the names of those shortlisted for a Classical Brit award will be announced, an award evening where Bryn, Aled and Katherine are annual contenders.

I have been lucky enough to meet all three and they all have one thing in common apart from a great voice and even greater charisma.

They are all completely genuinely nice, down-to-earth people, with their feet firmly on the ground.

They are three of the best ambassadors we have to prove how being Welsh or a Welsh speaker is no barrier to being the best in the world.

The actual award ceremony will have an even stronger Welsh atmosphere this year, as the Fron male voice choir are already booked to sing there.

I can guarantee one thing, having found superstardom at a relatively late age, this bunch of guys will have a brilliant time on this most glamorous of nights, and good for them.
