Bruker Daltonics Introduces Suite of New Proteomics Products at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry Conference.

Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL) today announces several major product introductions for proteomics at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) conference.

NEW Q-Q-TOF SYSTEM
Bruker Daltonics introduces BioTOF(R)-Q, a novel ultra-high performance electrospray ionization (ESI) mass-selective quadrupole / collision quadrupole / time-of-flight analyzer (Q-q-TOF) mass spectrometer.
-- The BioTOF-Q adds tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) capabilities to our BioTOF II high-resolution ESI-TOF system.
-- Tandem mass spectrometry using a Q-q-TOF geometry permits the sensitive and highly accurate determination of molecular fragments in proteomics identification, de novo peptide sequencing, complex mixture analysis and other life-science applications.
-- The new BioTOF-Q system is unique due to its revolutionary, patented COMPASS(TM) method for significantly improved mass resolution greater than 20,000, and better mass accuracy than other Q-q-TOF systems.
NEXT-GENERATION RESEARCH ION TRAP SYSTEM
At the same time, Bruker Daltonics announces its next-generation research-grade esquire3000 plus(TM) electrospray ionization (ESI) ion trap. The esquire3000 plus, developed in collaboration with Agilent Technology, features a new ion transfer mechanism for higher ion flux and significantly increased sensitivity.
-- The esquire3000 plus offers the highest performance for the requirements of drug discovery and LC/MSn researchers. Particularly for proteomics applications, the overall sensitivity is improved by one order of magnitude.
-- The esquire3000 plus provides new and superior data processing capabilities like PepMassCreator(TM), or the innovative SmartSuite(TM) for an intuitive workflow.
-- The esquire3000 plus continues to offer the highest standard mass range up to m/z = 3,000 without using lower-sensitivity "extended mass range" switching. NEW MODULAR SUITE OF PROTEOMICS TOOLS

The mac automates and simplifies many of the otherwise tedious tasks in preparing samples prior to MALDI-TOF-MS or ESI-MS/MS analysis of proteins.

As a fifth new product, Bruker Daltonics announces ProteinScape(TM), a bioinformatics software package for comprehensive proteomics data warehousing and analysis, developed in collaboration with leading pharmaceutical and proteomics research companies.
-- ProteinScape provides a web-based client-server platform for storing, organizing and analyzing data generated in the entire workflow of proteomics. It operates with industry standard relational database systems.
-- ProteinScape automatically collects data including gel objects from gel imaging software. It supports a modular and flexible approach to bioinformatics queries by supporting different search engines in the protein identification step.
