Bruce Russell steps down from CoreNet.
Russell has served as chief learning officer of CoreNet Global since its creation in May 2002 from the merger of the International Development Research Council and the International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives. He also served as president of the IDRC Foundation, chairman of the IDRC research committee and president of IDRC. Russell retired as vice president and director of corporate real estate for Eastman Kodak Co. in 1997, after a lengthy career in management positions throughout the corporation.
"Bruce Russell deserves much of the credit for the successful creation of CoreNet Global," said Binzel. "Mergers are never easy and Bruce played a crucial role in both developing and implementing the strategic plan that integrated CoreNet Global from its two predecessor organizations."
CoreNet Global chairman Leslie Whatley added, "Brace has been the key driver behind the development of the educational and research models that set CoreNet Global apart from other organizations in the field. His expertise will be missed, but he leaves CoreNet Global with a strong legacy, having been central in establishing a solid foundation for the future success of the organization."
Binzel said a search for Russell's replacement will begin immediately in order to ensure a smooth transition when he departs.
"Bruce's willingness to remain on board and to be a key team player through the transition demonstrates his devotion to the association which he has played such an important role in shaping," he noted.
