Bruce Hoffman was born in Tampa in 1946 and graduated high school in Panama City, Florida. He obtained both his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (1969) and his law degree from the University of Florida (1981). He worked in the electronics industry for several years before returning to law school. He is an inactive registered professional engineer in Florida. Hoffman is a United States Soccer registered referee and associate referee instructor. He is also a registered Florida High School Activities Association Grade One Referee. He has refereed more than 2000 soccer matches over the last 17 years. He has, been a board member and President of Youth Soccer of Gainesville, to whom he provides ongoing legal representation. Hoffman has been married to Anthe Randall Hoffman for 31 years. They have three adult children, Christina, Elizabeth, and Paul. Hoffman clerked for several Gainesville firms during law school and worked for one of the attorneys for one and one-half years after law school. He then ope ned his own solo practice. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1981.
