Brown gifts herself with successful title defence.

Dubai Lindsay Brown representing Al Ain Equestrian Shooting & Golf Club, had an unforgettable birthday treat after she fired a level par 72 over the Majlis to defend her Amateur Open crown.

There were three main contenders going into the final round. Jo Schoeman carded a 4-over par 77 over the Faldo to take a 2-shot lead over Brown and a 4-shot lead over Sana Tufail.

Schoeman dropped shots over the opening nine and it soon became clear it would be a tight race between Brown and Tufail.

Tufail was one under gross for her round standing on the 16th tee box and stood at seven over par for the championship, level pegging with Brown. It was the short par four 17th that proved to be the turning point.
